HELP US SPONSOR A CHILD’S EDUCATION

Meet Mariana Arroyo Azofeifa. Mariana is a five-year-old Kindergarten student who lives in Tambor with her sister, her parents Jimmy Arroyo and Yancy Azofeifa Alvarado. Mariana is a shy kid with an admirable will. She has a strong yet sweet personality, she is very gentile and looks after her little sister Lucia. Mariana has attended our Tambor Kid´s Garden for the last two years, her parents believe strongly on the value of her education.

Mariana will be able to continue a more in-depth, personalized education at the new Tambor Bay School than in the public education system. Sponsoring her learning experience for one month costs US $90; making her private education possible for an entire year costs US $990. Full or partial scholarships are welcome.

Tambor is a rural area with very low income per family, undeveloped and somewhat isolated. A small group of multinational and local parents has started a non-profit to create the Tambor Bay School, which seeks to improve the quality of educational opportunities for all children here, regardless of their social class or economic status. Thanks to a generous donation from the Hotel Tambor Tropical and a combined effort among parents, Tambor Bay School will open its doors in March 2010.
